I love:
- Ethiopian food
- Fried fish from The Fish Keg in Chicago - their breading must be laced with crack.
- Meats with slightly sweet sauces, i.e. black cod with miso, the mahogany beef stew on epicurious, and chicken satay from Singapore.
- Banh Mi
- Moles a la Tia - Their coffee mole was the most intriguing thing I've eaten.
- The fish sandwiches at Blue Water in San Diego.
- Anything with marzipan or almond extract.
- Mighty Leaf's African Nectar Tea and Salada's Green Tea with Purple Antioxidants.
- Michoacan enchiladas from the Maxwell Street Market in Chicago.
- Yakiniku
- The chips with coloradito mole at La Guelaguetza in Los Angeles.
- Meatball subs from Boston.
- Garlic.
- Shaved ice with macadamia nut ice cream.
- Cheese Crepes with Cardamom Apple Ice Cream from August in New Orleans. Recreating that dish is my current obsession.
- The potato pancakes at The Bagel in Chicago. I swear, these taste like they are cooked in chicken fat or something equally yummy. They are thick and slightly gummy, and even though potato pancakes are supposed to be light and fluffy, I really love these. Even worse is I love eating them with ketchup.
- Blueberries.
- White peaches - the most perfect fruit on earth.
- Hainanese Chicken Rice - omg, comfort food! Must have kecap manis with this.
- Sweet and salty desserts like chocolate covered pretzels and salted caramel.
- Caramel cake - much much more on this later.
- Breads and rice and pasta!
- Mango Vanilla boba tea.
